Catrina Dia de los Muertos.
Creepy Ball Jointed Doll by CDLITE (Connie D'Angelo).
Sculpted in mix of polymer clays and without the use of any mold what so ever. Her beautiful eyes are hand-made by the artist. Tiny hand made cold porcelain roses adorn her hair and dress. Catrina's body is lightly brushed leaving her in natural colors. Because no molds were ever made Catrina is a one-of-a -kind creation!
The story of how I purchased Catrina.
I was searching eBay in 2012 for BJD (Ball Jointed Dolls) when Catrina came up in a search. The description called Catrina "Creepy ball jointed art doll CDL. Lady of the Dead."
At first glance I was a bit taken back with Catrina's skull painted face. However, the more you look at her, especially up close, she was NOT creepy at all, but vey beautiful. Her eyes were very well decorated and her lips adorned with pearl-like luster to represent the skull's teeth. Tiny handmade porcelain roses adorned her hair. Her upper body was inscribed with pretty tattoo designs.Everything about her was intricate and labor intensive.
Although she represented the dead, she exudes nothing but life and the living,
Upon receiving Catrina, I was more than delighted. I immediately felt her positive energy "made with loving hands; deliberate intentions."
